"Wife of Gilgo Beach suspect seeks normalcy amidst indescribable catastrophe"

The estranged wife of Rex Heuermann, a suspect in the Gilgo Beach serial killings, has asked for privacy and "normalcy" for her family and neighbors who have been affected by the case. Asa Ellerup, represented by the law firm Macedonio & Duncan, filed for divorce shortly after Heuermann was charged with multiple counts of murder. The remains of four women, including sex workers, were discovered in Gilgo Beach in 2010, and Heuermann is also suspected in the disappearance and death of another woman. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney claims the evidence against him is circumstantial.
