"UNLV Shooting: Professor Turned Gunman Targets Faculty Members, Shocks Campus Community"

The man who killed three faculty members at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas was identified as Anthony Polito, a 67-year-old professor who had unsuccessfully pursued several college jobs in the state. Polito, who had taught at East Carolina University for 16 years, was killed by the police during a shootout after his rampage. He also injured a visiting professor and had mailed 22 letters to university employees across the country, some of which contained an unknown white powder.
