A 6-year-old Palestinian American boy, Wadea, was stabbed 26 times in an alleged hate crime at his home in Plainfield, Illinois. The boy's mother was also stabbed but is expected to survive. The landlord, Joseph Czuba, 71, was arrested and charged with targeting and stabbing the mother and son because they were Muslim. Czuba's wife revealed that he had become obsessed with the conflict between Hamas and Israel. Wadea's father had been wary of living in Czuba's house due to his support for former President Donald Trump, but they stayed.
