Orlando Police Chief Reveals Intense Search and Investigation Following Shooting of 2 Officers

Orlando police Chief Eric Smith provided details on the search and investigation following the shooting of two officers during a traffic stop. The suspect, 28-year-old Daton Viel, with an extensive criminal history, shot the officers before carjacking another vehicle and fleeing. After a pursuit, Viel barricaded himself in a hotel room and refused to surrender. SWAT officers eventually shot and injured the suspect.
