"Nashville Police Chief's Son Found Dead After Car Chase, Ending Manhunt for Double Officer Shooting"

John Drake Jr., the estranged son of Nashville's police chief, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after leading police on a chase in a stolen car. Drake Jr. was wanted for shooting and wounding two police officers in La Vergne. His father, Police Chief John Drake, expressed his heartbreak and appreciation for the support received. The younger Drake stole a car at gunpoint, crashed it, and fled to a shed where he took his own life. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will conduct an autopsy as part of the investigation.
