MLB Player Arrested for Shocking Tahoe Shooting

Former MLB player Dan Serafini and Samantha Scott have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in the North Lake Tahoe area in 2021. Serafini, who is the son-in-law of the victims, and Scott, who had a close connection to the family, were both arrested in separate Nevada locations. The shooting resulted in the death of Robert Spohr and severe injuries to his wife, Wendy Wood Spohr, who later died. Serafini, a former MLB pitcher, played for several teams during his career and was suspended for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. The suspects will be extradited to Placer County to face charges of murder and attempted murder. Serafini is also facing child abuse and endangerment charges in Humboldt County, Nevada.
