Massacre in Russian-Occupied Ukraine: Family of 9 Executed in Their Sleep

A Ukrainian family of nine, including two young children, was brutally executed in their sleep in the Russian-occupied town of Volnovakha. Two Russian soldiers, allegedly drunk, gunned down the Kapkanets family after they refused to give up their home for a Russian military unit. The killers used silenced machine guns to methodically kill each family member. The victims include the head of the household, his wife, their son and daughter-in-law, their grandchildren, and the wife's brother. Distressing photos show the aftermath of the massacre. Two Russian soldiers have been arrested and face murder charges. The motive appears to be a personal conflict, and the suspects are believed to be from Russia's Far East, possibly Chechen.
