Manhunt underway for suspect in murder of Baltimore tech CEO

Jason Billingsley, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, is the prime suspect in the murder of Baltimore tech CEO Pava LaPere. Billingsley, who has been convicted of multiple felonies including assault and rape attempt, was paroled in October 2022. Mayor Brandon Scott expressed frustration with the justice system's handling of repeat offenders, and Acting Police Commissioner Richard Worley revealed that Billingsley is also a suspect in another case. A warrant has been issued for Billingsley's arrest on first-degree murder charges.
