"Former Mayo Clinic Doctor Charged with Fatally Poisoning Wife, Attempts to Halt Autopsy"

Connor Bowman, a poison specialist and former medical resident at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly fatally poisoning his wife, a pharmacist. Bowman tried to prevent an autopsy on his wife, claiming she had a rare illness, but the medical examiner's office ordered an autopsy and found that she died from toxic effects of colchicine, a medicine used to treat gout. Suspicious circumstances, including Bowman's research on the drug and financial motives, led to his arrest. This is the third recent case of alleged spousal poisoning.
