Father of accused Highland Park shooter pleads guilty to reckless conduct charges

The father of the accused Highland Park shooter has pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct in a plea deal, just as his trial was set to begin. Robert Crimo Jr. will serve a 60-day jail sentence, along with two years of probation and 100 hours of community service. He must also surrender his Firearm Ownership Identification card and any weapons he owns. Prosecutors argued that Crimo Jr. knew his son had "violent ideations" when he signed his son's FOID card application. Crimo III's murder trial is expected to be scheduled in December.
