"Family Ties: Suspect Related to Victims in Chicago-Area Killing Spree"

The man accused of killing eight people near Chicago was related to most, if not all, of the victims, with a family relationship between the two residences where the shootings occurred. The suspect, Romeo Nance, fled to Texas and killed himself in a confrontation with U.S. marshals. The motive for the shootings remains unclear, and authorities are unable to determine why Nance committed the acts of violence. Only one victim has been identified, and there doesn't appear to be a connection between the shootings at the homes in Joliet and the other two people Nance is accused of shooting.
