El Chapo's Son Extradited to US in Major Drug Cartel Victory

Ovidio Guzman Lopez, son of Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, has been extradited from Mexico to the United States. The extradition is a result of cooperation between US and Mexican law enforcement. Guzman is considered a leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. He has been flown to Chicago and is expected to have an initial court appearance on Monday. Guzman's extradition follows the release of his mother, Emma Coronel Aispuro, from a US prison. The State Department alleges that Guzman and his brother oversee methamphetamine labs and have been involved in drug trafficking. Attorney General Garland praised the law enforcement officials involved in the fight against cartels.
