Colorado Funeral Home Owners Arrested for Improperly Storing Nearly 200 Bodies

The owners of a Colorado funeral home, Jon and Carie Hallford, have been arrested on multiple felony charges after nearly 200 decaying bodies were found improperly stored at their facility. The bodies were discovered after police received a report of a foul smell coming from the building. The funeral home offered green and natural burial services, but the bodies were found to be "improperly stored." Some relatives suspect they were given fake ashes composed of dry concrete. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have identified 110 individuals so far. Colorado Governor Jared Polis has issued a disaster declaration to allocate additional resources for the investigation.
