Breakthrough Arrest: Suspect Charged in Tupac Shakur's 1996 Murder

Duane "Keffe D" Davis, an admitted former street gang leader, has been charged with murder in the 1996 shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas. Davis, who police say was long suspected and began implicating himself in recent years, was arrested after a grand jury returned an indictment against him. He is accused of leading a group of men to kill Shakur in a drive-by shooting as retaliation for the beating of his nephew by Shakur and his entourage. The case was reinvigorated in 2018 by Davis's own admissions, leading to the discovery of additional evidence and the indictment.
