"Arrest Made in Connection to Indianapolis Murders of Two Women"

A suspect has been charged with the "brutal and evil" murders of two Indianapolis women who were found dead days apart near each other. David Hiner, 30, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Shannon Lassere, 58, and Marianne Weis, 52, who were both stabbed to death. Surveillance and forensic evidence led detectives to Hiner, and preliminary DNA analysis matched blood from the suspect’s shoes to both victims. Hiner, who had been released from prison in September 2023, denied involvement in the murders and claimed the shoes belonged to his mother's boyfriend.
