Arrest Made in Antisemitic Threats at Cornell University

A 21-year-old Cornell University student, Patrick Dai, has been arrested and charged with making antisemitic threats against Jewish students on an online discussion site. Dai allegedly called for the deaths of Jewish people, threatened violence, and expressed intentions to shoot up a building frequented by Jewish students. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. The threats have caused fear within the Jewish community in Ithaca, prompting a visit from New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who warned of rising antisemitism on college campuses.
