"Acquittal in Final Trial of Michigan Gov. Whitmer Kidnapping Plot"

Three men have been acquitted of all charges related to their alleged involvement in a 2020 plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Eric Molitor, William Null, and Michael Null were acquitted on charges of providing material support for a terrorist act and possessing a firearm during a felony. The men were accused of targeting the governor's vacation cottage and conducting surveillance of her home. This trial concludes the prosecution of 14 individuals in state and federal courts, with nine convictions or guilty pleas and five acquittals. The defense argued entrapment, claiming the FBI coerced the defendants. The leader of the plot, Adam Fox, was previously sentenced to 16 years in prison.
