Onewheel Electric Skateboards Recalled After Fatalities and Injuries

The Snowboard Shop in the UK has stopped selling Onewheel electric skateboards following a recall by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) after four deaths were reported. The CPSC has recalled all 300,000 devices sold, citing a crash hazard that could result in serious injury or death. The Snowboard Shop will contact its UK customers and has approached the manufacturer for clarification. The products will remain on the website only to provide a link to the recall notice. Future Motion, the maker of Onewheel, is facing 31 lawsuits related to unexpected shutdowns. The recall covers all models of Onewheel electric skateboards, and the CPSC encourages riders to wear protective gear. Future Motion plans to introduce a safety alert feature called haptic buzz to make the devices safer.
