"Domicide: The Devastating Impact of War on Gaza's Homes"

More than half of Gaza's buildings have been damaged or destroyed since Israel's retaliation for Hamas attacks in October, with detailed analysis revealing the extent of devastation in southern and central Gaza. Over 1.7 million people, or more than 80% of Gaza's population, are displaced, with residential areas, universities, and farmlands left in ruins. Satellite data analysis suggests between 144,000 and 175,000 buildings have been damaged or destroyed, with the city of Khan Younis bearing much of the brunt. The destruction has also impacted farmlands, leaving half of Gaza's population facing starvation, and led to the proliferation of temporary structures to house displaced people in the south.
