Brad Smith, former CEO of Intuit, has become West Virginia's richest person with a net worth of $700 million. Smith, who grew up in West Virginia, returned to his alma mater, Marshall University, as its president in January 2022. He and his wife have also founded the Wing 2 Wing Foundation, which focuses on education, entrepreneurship, and the environment in Appalachia. Smith plans to transform Marshall University to ensure that all graduates leave campus debt-free and land in the careers of their choice.
