Tragic Helicopter Crash Claims Lives in South Florida

A Broward Sheriff's Fire-Rescue captain and a woman on the ground were killed, and four others were injured when a Fire Rescue helicopter crashed into an apartment building in Pompano Beach. The helicopter crew was on their way to assist in a car crash when the pilot notified the department, as the craft was crashing, that they couldn't respond. The crash resulted in a fire that engulfed the building. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the helicopters will be grounded until re-inspected.
