Crucial is developing a PCIe Gen5 SSD, the T700, which is based on the Phison E26 controller and comes with a heatsink. The storage solution is expected to reach transfer speeds of up to 12.4 GB/s read and 11.9 GB/s write, according to a tweet from LinusTechTips. The adoption of PCIe 5.0 technology has been slower than expected, but the release of several Gen5 SSDs in recent months suggests the revolution has only just begun.
