From CDs to Vinyl: Celebrating 40 Years of Music Evolution.

March 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of the first album released on a compact disc (CD), which quickly became the most popular way for people to listen to music. However, in 2022, for the first time since 1987, consumers bought more vinyl LPs than CDs, with CD sales decreasing by 28% to 33.4 million albums and 100,000 singles, while vinyl sales increased by 3.2% to 41.3 million LPs and 200,000 singles.
