Friendship vs Marriage in Ore Agbaje-Williams's 'The Three of Us'

Ore Agbaje-Williams' debut novel, The Three of Us, follows the insidious dynamic between a wealthy Nigerian-British married couple and the wife's manipulative best friend over the course of a single day. The novel is a mashup of domestic noir and comedy of manners, but the result is more discomforting than amusing. The characters' wealth affects the exploration of marriage, friendship, loyalty, and doubt, and the novel would probably play better on stage than on the page.
