Family of Six Survives Three Years in Underground Bunker

Ruben Romero, an internet consultant from Georgia, has been living with his wife and four children in a 6,000-square-foot nuclear-resistant former communications bunker for three years. The bunker, built in the 1960s by telecommunications company AT&T, cost the family around $300,000 with a 13-acre plot of land included. The family has been renovating the bunker, installing internet, a contraption to filter the air, repairing the sewage system, and putting in a water filtration unit. The Romeros' dream is to be completely self-sufficient, and they have started growing their own produce and collecting rainwater.
