Take-Two's Legal Action Wipes Out AI NPC Mod for GTA 5

Take-Two, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto V, has taken down a mod called Sentient Streets, which used AI technology to generate NPC conversation dialogue in the game. The mod, created by YouTube user Bloc, was removed from YouTube and NexusMods, leaving the creator confused and discouraged. Take-Two has a history of going after fan projects and mods, but its recent partnership with Cfx.re, the development team behind popular mod communities for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, seemed to suggest a more open approach to modding. The reason for targeting Bloc's mod is unclear, but its integration of a third-party AI tool and AI-generated voices may have raised concerns.
