The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has become the highest-rated game of all time on review aggregation site OpenCritic, with an aggregate score of 97.223. The game is also the highest-rated Nintendo Switch game of all time on Metacritic, and the site's highest-rated new game since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. Critics have praised the game as a worthy sequel to one of the generation's best games and one of the long-running franchise's high points. The game will be released on May 12.
