The project, codenamed "Altar," is being developed using both Unreal Engine 5 and the original Oblivion engine. While the release date is uncertain, it is speculated to be before the end of 2022 or early 2025. This news comes as fans are also working on a remake of Oblivion within Skyrim's in-game engine, set to release in 2025.
