Industry veterans from id Software, Naughty Dog, and Activision have formed a new independent triple-A studio called Emptyvessel, aiming to create immersive shooters with smaller, focused teams. The studio, led by CEO Emanuel Palalic and COO Garrett Young, plans to prioritize creative freedom and a developer-first approach, with a fully remote team based in Austin, Texas. Their first project will be an immersive shooter powered by Unreal Engine 5, inspired by dystopian sci-fi worlds and financed with the help of investors such as Sisu Game Ventures and Raptor Group.
