The Rise of Pokémon Card Thefts: A Growing Concern.

A large quantity of rare Pokémon cards from the Fusion Strike expansion set were allegedly stolen from the printer, but were recovered by The Pokémon Company with the help of a private investigator and a small independent retailer in Dallas, Texas. The company knew the cards were missing and who had stolen them, and the thief was already in police custody. It is unclear if the stolen cards had already made their way into legitimately sold packs, but it is unlikely that fans were shortchanged on rare card hits as the publishers of trading card games print enough cards to hit their target numbers.
