Irvine-based developer Frost Giant Studios has surpassed its Kickstarter campaign goal for its debut real-time strategy game, Stormgate, in just 15 minutes. With over $718,996 in pledges, the campaign has the potential to become the biggest Kickstarter game campaign in recent years. Founded by former Blizzard developers, Frost Giant Studios aims to create a spiritual successor to classic RTS games like Warcraft III and Starcraft II, incorporating technical improvements such as Snowplay technology and rollback technology. Stormgate will be free to play on Steam and will offer an ongoing campaign, co-op mode, competitive play, and an editor for custom missions and mini-games.
