Square Enix is reportedly undergoing a significant overhaul of its game development system to enhance product quality and boost revenue, with a focus on reducing outsourced development and increasing internal development for large-scale titles. The company's President, Takashi Kiryu, announced that a new organizational structure will be launched in the spring, aiming to implement a new check mechanism to evaluate game development and quality at earlier stages. This decision follows a decrease in net sales and operating income attributed to various factors including decreased sales of MMOs and mobile games, along with increased development and advertising costs.
