"PlayStation's Patapon Developers Unveil 'Ratatan' as Spiritual Successor"

The team behind PlayStation's popular rhythm action game, Patapon, has revealed a spiritual successor called Ratatan. Developed by Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani, the game will feature over 100 cute characters, multiplayer for up to four players, and roguelike elements. Ratatan will be crowdfunded via Kickstarter starting on July 31. While Kotani didn't rule out a traditional Patapon sequel in the future, he expressed excitement for creating a new game with unique gameplay. Despite the closure of Sony Japan Studio, Kotani remains optimistic about the creative energy and support for Japanese developers from PlayStation.
