Modders have quickly added actual Pokémon characters to the monster-collecting survival game Palworld, changing the player character to Ash and transforming the in-game creatures into Pokémon equivalents. The mod, teased in a video by YouTuber Toasted Shoes, has drawn attention due to the game's comparison to Pokémon. Despite the absence of Pikachu and most of Pokémon’s signature competitive mechanics, Palworld has seen significant success, selling over five million copies in its first three days, although multiplayer options are limited for non-Steam players.
