A new tank hero named Mauga is set to join Overwatch 2's roster with season 8, making him the game's 39th playable character. Although Blizzard plans to officially reveal Mauga at BlizzCon 2023, leaked information has already provided a glimpse into his abilities. Players will have the opportunity to try out Mauga during a free trial weekend from November 3 to November 5. Described as a powerful brawling tank, Mauga wields two chainguns that can be fired individually or together, with one gun capable of burning opponents and the other dealing critical hits. His abilities include Overrun, a charging ability that cannot be stopped by crowd control, and Cage Fight, an ultimate ability that traps nearby opponents in a fighting ring. Mauga will be officially released on December 5 when season 8 of Overwatch 2 goes live.
