Ubisoft's next Far Cry game, codenamed 'Project Maverick', is rumored to be an extraction-based multiplayer shooter with permadeath. Players will gather resources and loot in an Alaska-inspired battlefield, using them to upgrade gear and unlock perks. If a character dies, everything except items left at the base of operations will be lost, requiring a fresh start. The game is reportedly aiming for an April 2025 release date and is not Far Cry 7, which is expected to be a more traditional Far Cry experience.
