Leaked Gameplay of Cancelled Neversoft Call of Duty Title Surfaces

Gameplay footage of a cancelled Call of Duty game, codenamed NX1 and developed by Neversoft, has surfaced online, showcasing a futuristic sci-fi setting. The game was intended to be a pivot for Neversoft from Guitar Hero to a futuristic COD title, potentially replacing 2013's Ghosts. The footage includes campaign and multiplayer gameplay, as well as a new Escort mode on the "Sandstorm" map. Despite the cancellation, Activision's president previously stated plans for Call of Duty games through 2027, with reports suggesting this year's release will be a new Black Ops title set in the early 1990s.
