GOALS Secures $20M Series A Funding to Revolutionize Esports-Ready Soccer Gaming

Stockholm-based game development studio Goals has raised $20m in a Series A funding round led by Seven Seven Six, with participation from Northzone, Moonfire and Cassius, as well as several individuals. The funds will be used to develop a new soccer game that aims to appeal to both casual fans and aspiring esports pros. The game will feature standard 11v11 matches, as well as a 5v5 mode designed to emphasise teamwork and make the title esports ready at launch. The game will be available on consoles and PC with crossplay between platforms. The funding will accelerate hiring and production, with the team planning to expand to 75 members over the next few years.
