Ticketed Go Tour Kalos players must choose X or Y during the 'An X-ceptional Yarn' Special Research, locking in Xerneas- or Yveltal-themed rewards, a version medal, a special-background encounter, and Unown X or Unown Y field tasks. The choice cannot be changed later. X favors Xerneas raids and Unown X paths, while Y favors Yveltal and Unown Y tasks (with Yveltal as a versatile Master League option, though less effective in certain raid matchups). If you attended previous Kalos events, you can still participate in the quest.
