Gaming Giants Clash: PlayStation vs Xbox in Battle for Acquisitions and Exclusivity

Miles Jacobson, studio head of Sports Interactive, the developer of Football Manager, disagrees with PlayStation boss Jim Ryan's claim that subscription-based services like Xbox Game Pass are "value destructive" to video games. Jacobson states that for his studio, Game Pass and other subscription services have had a positive impact, bringing in new players and increasing the reach of the franchise. He believes that financially and creatively, these services make sense for his studio and that the quotes from other studios about their negative experiences are not recognized in his business. Sega, the publisher of Football Manager, also expresses satisfaction with the results of Game Pass and sees it as a great opportunity for quality titles.
