Epic Games is launching a new first-person mode for Fortnite called "Ballistic," set to debut in early access on December 11. This 5v5 competitive game mode features a round-based structure and a performance-driven economy similar to Counter-Strike, with no respawns between rounds. Players will be divided into attackers and defenders, aiming to plant or prevent the detonation of a Rift Point Device. Ballistic will launch with a single map and a limited set of weapons, positioning itself as a potential competitor to games like Counter-Strike and Valorant.
