Nightdive Studios has done a masterful job with the 2023 remake of System Shock, updating the classic game with modern conveniences while retaining its immersive sim genre roots. The game's exploration-focused gameplay and cyberpunk setting are still as engaging as ever, while combat has been improved with better AI and more viable weapon options. The game's difficulty can be adjusted for combat, puzzles, cyberspace, and main story missions, making it accessible to a wide range of players. The only downside is the clunky movement controls and the occasionally tedious cyberspace sections.
