EA Confirms Free-to-Play Sims 5, Coexisting with The Sims 4

EA has announced that the next-gen Sims game, codenamed Project Rene, will be a free download, allowing players to join, play, and explore without a subscription or core game purchase. While content and packs will be sold, the overall structure of the game will be different from The Sims 4, with basic weather being added for free and additional packs focusing on specific themes. EA also confirmed that Project Rene will not replace The Sims 4 and that both games will be supported simultaneously.
