Disney's head of gaming, Sean Shoptaw, has expressed that there is still a significant demand for the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. While the project's status remains uncertain, developer Saber Interactive is reportedly still working on it. The remake, initially announced in 2021, has faced development struggles, including a pause in progress and key staff departures. Embracer, the company overseeing the remake, has not provided any updates or comments on the project. The original KOTOR game, developed by BioWare, is highly regarded as one of the best Star Wars video games and western RPGs.
