Reports of a Dead Space 2 remake at EA have been refuted, with the entire series now reportedly "on ice." Bloomberg's Jason Schreier confirmed that EA's Motive studio has been working on other projects for nearly a year and had explored ideas for a new Dead Space entry early last year, but none were greenlit. The focus was not on remaking the second game, and the codename circulating for a Dead Space 2 remake actually referred to a different project. EA Motive is currently working on Iron Man and Battlefield, with the Dead Space remake directors moving to the Battlefield team.
