Blizzard Delays Overwatch 2 Story Missions Until 2024

Overwatch 2 players should not expect any new story missions for at least the next two seasons following the launch of Season 6, according to the game's executive producer Jared Neuss. Neuss stated that the development team needs time to make changes and add features, and they are trying to find a balance between delivering story content quickly and ensuring quality. Blizzard previously canceled the highly anticipated PvE Hero mode, which disappointed fans who saw it as a key difference from the original game. Instead, the focus will be on releasing story missions, which will feature co-op gameplay, new enemies, and cutscenes. However, players will need to purchase a $15 digital content bundle to access the upcoming story missions. Neuss assured the community that there will be other content releases to fill the gaps between story missions, but it is unlikely that more story missions will be released in 2023.
