Sega Considers Movie Adaptations for Persona and Yakuza Franchises

Sega is considering the possibility of adapting its popular gaming franchises, Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon, into movies. Following the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog film adaptations, Sega aims to expand the reach of its other IPs. Chief Operating Officer Shuji Utsumi mentioned Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon specifically, hinting at potential film adaptations for these franchises. Sega is exploring various business areas to bring these IPs to, including movies and partnerships with companies like Lego and Roblox. Both Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon have upcoming major releases in the gaming space, with Persona 5 Tactica and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launching in 2024.
