San Francisco Bar Owner Faces Robberies, Vandalism, and Extortion Threats

San Francisco bar owner Hanson Li has reported that his restaurants have been repeatedly targeted with robberies, vandalism, and extortion attempts. Three of his businesses, including Lazy Susan and Horsefeather, have been recently affected. The incidents include break-ins, defacement of storefronts, theft of cash and valuables, and threats of bear spray deployment unless a ransom is paid. Li expressed frustration over the lack of police response and called for better protection for businesses. This comes as San Francisco grapples with a crime and drug crisis, leading to an exodus of big brands and a decline in footfall. The city has also seen a surge in fentanyl use and fatal overdoses, contributing to its economic and social decline.
