Marissa Mayer regrets Yahoo's Tumblr acquisition over Netflix.

Former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer said in an interview that the company should have bought Netflix or Hulu instead of Tumblr. Yahoo paid $1.1 billion for Tumblr in 2013 but struggled to make sense of the platform among its other media efforts. Mayer said that either Netflix or Hulu would have been a better acquisition. Verizon acquired Yahoo and Tumblr, but after the prevalence of child porn on the platform, Tumblr was offloaded to the owner of WordPress for less than $3 million.
