The Vonka Racing drift team is experimenting with 3D printing their own turbofan wheel covers, creating visually appealing prototypes but facing challenges with flex, rigidity, and balancing. While turbofan covers are primarily cosmetic, they can help cool brakes, making high-temperature plastics necessary for genuine high-performance use. Turbofans are more about aesthetics than performance, but they are visually appealing for drift teams. Other custom shops and Ken Block have also embraced turbofans, and if successful, 3D-printed turbofans could become a popular accessory in the future.
